To achieve its institutional goals, the Foundation aims, among many activities, to “carry out documentation and support activities for its own activity and in the field of healthcare in general, as well as supporting and promoting research activities always in the healthcare sector, and in particular in that of home care, with particular regard to the study and experimentation of new care techniques, the development of pharmaceutical protocols, the identification and evaluation of new training methods ” (Statute, art.2 c).
For this reason the Foundation has always sought the most suitable channels to develop the Scientific Activity Area. In particular, since 2020 an operational figure has been established dedicated to the development of the fields of Training and Research.
The objectives pursued by the Scientific Activity Area are:
- Improve care practices based on EBM (Evidence Based Medicine) and EBN (Evidence Based Nursing) and strengthen the drafting of internal protocols and procedures based on evidence;
- Support the training of staff;
- Disseminate the results of research through participation in conferences and scientific publications;
- Start doctoral courses, master’s theses, university theses that can lead to collaborations with healthcare institutions and professionals.
Currently the Scientific Activity Area is developed in three areas:
Research projects
developed independently or in collaboration with other bodies;
Publications
participation in conferences and congresses, scientific articles
Collaborations
relations with universities and professional training institutions
Research projects
The Foundation assists a large number of people, within different areas of care and is divided into a structured organization.
The research activity allows us to :
- give weight and meaning to the numbers that describe reality (quantitative research) ;
- study people’s experiences in depth (qualitative research);
- find solutions to assistance problems (targeted research);
- increase knowledge in certain areas (innovative research);
Since 2020, projects have been carried out that they originated from ideas of the Foundation’s operators and which respond to needs arising from daily activity. The projects were developed and implemented on its own.
The Foundation aims to develop new projects, especially in collaboration with other research bodies (IRCCS, Universities, other bodies involved in residential or home care… ).
